A WINDOW INTO THE WORLD OF THE VIRTUAL HOSPITAL, CHA FACT-FINDING STUDY
November 2, 2022A Cabrini Women’s Mental Health Service client was so inspired by her experience during her recent admission that she designed a new fabric.
The client, an artist who owns her own business – Clover & Co – says art therapy has always been a massive part of her healing, and whatever she creates comes from a deep place in her soul.
The fabric, Chloe, was named after one of Cabrini’s amazing nurses.
The patient says nurse “Chloe has changed (dare I say, saved?) my life”, and the fabric’s pattern is a tribute to the saying “no rain, no flowers”.
“Each flower, inclusive of the Cabrini red, represents each month – another month of healing, recovery and life,” she says.
“It is a massive process to release each print, but what better time to release it than to celebrate another year of life and another year of this incredible community.”
Cabrini’s Chief of Mental Health, Sharon Sherwood, says this is a reminder that the people Cabrini cares for are more than just patients.
“Each one has their own unique story, and that story doesn’t end when they leave us,” Sharon says.
“We have the privilege to connect with them while they are in our care and become a part of theirs and their families’ ongoing narrative.
“Whether or not that narrative reflects positively is entirely up to us.”
