Archbishop blesses VMCH’s landmark St. Clare retirement precinct
February 24, 2026Southern Cross Care (SA, NT & VIC) has announced a significant redevelopment of its existing Retirement Living site in Northfield, South Australia.
The new development, to be known as Parkview Retirement Village, will include 29 new, architecturally designed homes and a vibrant community clubhouse and garden to support connection and social wellbeing for residents.
Southern Cross Care CEO, David Moran said the Parkview Retirement Village will offer high quality homes at an affordable price.
“All retirees deserve to enjoy a good quality of life, in a home that is well suited to their needs,” Mr Moran said.
“Parkview will deliver the perfect blend of affordable homes built for quality and comfort, community facilities that foster social connection and encourage an active lifestyle and an ideal location for staying connected to the broader community.
“We look forward to supporting the future residents of Parkview to be Better for life.”
Each home will offer:
- two bedrooms with built-in wardrobes
- a delightful kitchen with open-plan dining and living area
- a spacious bathroom and a second toilet
- a separate laundry
- reverse cycle ducted air-conditioning for year-round comfort
- provisions for services such as NBN
- garages with secure automated panel lift doors.
All homes will also include age-friendly design features, supporting residents to age in place and enjoy an active and independent lifestyle.
Maintenance of all fittings and fixtures in the homes and all common areas in the village will be managed by Southern Cross Care, so residents can spend less time worrying about maintaining the home and more time enjoying their retirement.
Southern Cross Care has engaged several trusted partners on the project. Civil works on the site have begun and building is expected to commence in March this year.
An information session for retirees interested in the new development will be held at the Northgate Community and Sports Club in early March.
