CHA’s Guiding Lights Webinar series on Palliative Care will continue in July with a presentation by nurse practitioner Peter Jenkin.
The session, postponed from last year, is now scheduled for Tuesday 23 July 2024 at 12 noon.
Guest presenter Peter Jenkin is a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner who was awarded the 2022 HESTA Australian Nurse Practitioner of the Year as well as the 2017 Palliative Care Australia National Award for Excellence in Palliative Care – in an Aged Care Setting.
Peter has worked in various clinical, research and education roles in palliative care for more than 22 years and was a key member of the team that developed the “Palliative Approach Toolkit” for residential aged care facilities which was rolled out nationally by the Australian Government in 2014.
Peter’s role and model of care is unique, being the first specialist palliative care NP in Australia employed by an aged care provider.
Peter will share his insights into improving palliative care in a hospital and aged care setting including the role ELDAC can play in these settings.
