Catholic Health Australia (CHA) today announced the appointment of Tim Udorovic as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Mr Udorovic brings extensive experience as a senior leader across government, consulting, and mission-driven organisations, including most recently in the Catholic education sector, where he was responsible for enterprise-wide strategy, advocacy and policy in Australia’s largest non-government school system, Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools.
He has also worked as a senior ministerial adviser in federal and state governments and as a management consultant at KPMG Australia, building a reputation for thoughtful leadership and an ability to bring together stakeholders around shared strategic objectives.
Chair of Catholic Health Australia, Jenny Parker, said Tim would bring significant expertise to the role given his background in strategy and corporate affairs and his commitment to mission-led advocacy.
“We are thrilled to welcome Tim as our new CEO,” Ms Parker said. “He will lead the implementation of a new three-year strategy that will guide our work as the largest network of not-for-profit health, aged care and community providers in Australia.
“Our hospitals and aged care providers are deeply valued by the people and communities they serve, particularly the vulnerable and marginalised. It is their mission of care and compassion that defines them.”
Mr Udorovic said that CHA has an essential and unique role to play at a time of significant pressure and reform, advocating for members who make extraordinary contributions to the health and wellbeing of thousands of Australians every day.
“CHA members support people at some of the most important and difficult moments in their lives,” Mr Udorovic said.
“By listening closely to our members, championing their impact and advocating strongly for policy settings that support better outcomes, CHA will continue to be a trusted voice for members, driven by a shared commitment to human dignity, compassion and the common good.
“I look forward to working closely with our members, the Board and CHA staff to advance our mission of delivering accessible, high-quality care especially to those most in need.”
Ms Parker also thanked Interim CEO Kathy Hilyard for her leadership and support of the Board and staff in recent months.
Dr Katharine Bassett, Director of Health Policy at CHA, will act in the CEO role until Mr Udorovic commences in late July. He will be based in Melbourne.
