New resources for aged care staff to give to families

Staff who work in aged care have a new resource available to help them talk to families about end of of life care.

ELDAC’s Talking with Families Nurses, Advisors and Care Workers Kit is a free resource that supports aged care staff in having sensitive conversations., including what people can expect.

Importantly, the kit includes information that staff can give to families.

Talking with families early helps builds trust and relationships, and the kit can help staff identify the key times to talk have those conversations. Involving families at key times in their older relative’s care helps identify what matters when things change, and also improves the end of life experience.
