As Michael Roff steps down from his role as Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Private Hospitals Association (APHA) after an illustrious 30-year tenure, Catholic Health Australia (CHA) extends its gratitude for his unwavering dedication and exemplary leadership.
Since joining APHA as Public Affairs Manager in 1994 and becoming CEO in 2000, Mr Roff has been a steadfast advocate for the private hospitals sector. His tenure has seen him navigate through complex healthcare policies and challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic which resulted in elective surgeries being halted overnight. Yet, through it all, Michael’s commitment to high-quality private healthcare services never wavered. His leadership during these tumultuous times has been nothing short of inspiring, placing the needs of patients and the sector at the forefront of all decisions. His efforts have significantly shaped the landscape of private healthcare in Australia, and his legacy will undoubtedly influence future generations.
We at CHA have had the privilege of collaborating with Michael and have witnessed firsthand his professionalism, expertise, and passion for healthcare. His ability to navigate the complexities of healthcare delivery has been instrumental in advancing the interests of private hospitals and ensuring that millions of Australians receive the best possible care.
Michael’s departure marks the end of an era, but his contributions will continue to resonate within the sector. We are grateful for his tireless work, his strategic vision, and unyielding support for private hospitals.
