Catholic Health Australia Submission: Safe and Responsible Artificial Intelligence in Health Care — Legislation and Regulation Review
October 7, 2024CHA Submission: Safe and Responsible Artificial Intelligence in Health Care — Legislation and Regulation Review
October 21, 2024In some ways, CHA’s National Conference Rejoice, Reimagine seems a long time ago. But it is only less than two months since over 300 delegates came together in Sydney to network, attend workshops and hear inspiring stories and insights from our plenary guests.
We sought feedback after the conference, and I am pleased to say that most of the respondents valued the face-to-face contact with peers from across our health and aged care membership. We will be finding new ways to come together next year, with the annual conference shifting to a biennial event with the next one held in 2026.
The Conference would not have been such a success without our wonderful sponsors, and we will be featuring some of them in our newsletters over the coming months. I encourage you to consider if their services align with your needs.
I would like to draw your attention to the Health Matters Magazine which many of you would have received in your conference bags. The magazine showcases the groundbreaking work of our members across so many subject areas from mental health to inclusive aged care and reflections from our Australian of the Year on the work of the early Sisters.
Since conference we have held our AGM, where members approved our Annual Report. The report gives a comprehensive overview of the work undertaken by CHA on behalf of our members over the past 12 months. As the report notes, this has been a year marked by significant advocacy and reform where we have collectively made substantial strides towards ensuring quality aged care for all Australians and a more sustainable private healthcare system. We also continue to provide forums for knowledge sharing and collaboration including our two webinar programs – first on palliative care and now our Health at the Margins series. Recordings of most sessions are available on the CHA website.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Board and CHA Staff for their commitment and dedication to supporting the provision of compassionate care to all Australians and continuing the healing ministry of Christ.
