In its submission to the Senate Standing Committee on Community Affairs Inquiry into the Health Workforce Australia (Abolition) Bill, Catholic Health Australia commended the work of HWA in administration of clinical training funding for the non-government and private sectors and the establishment of long-term workforce planning, but said there was no reason to retain the functions of the agency. While acknowledging the importance of the National Health Workforce Taskforce's work to capture data and understand demand and capacity challenges in the health workforce, Catholic Health Australia said that is not sufficient. CHA argues a more efficient and appropriately funded process of clinical placements is essential of the success and transparency of the process.
