Liz Callaghan Director of Strategic Policy
Liz joined CHA in 2008 and is Director of Strategic Policy. She is a board member of Companion House, a medical and counselling service in Canberra for refugees and asylum seekers who are victims of torture and trauma.
Liz has previously held roles in the South Australian and Victorian Departments of Health, Metropolitan Domicilary Care, the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards and the Department of Management at RMIT University Melbourne. Liz has been involved in a statewide review of health services in South Australia and led the development of a ten year rural health plan in Victoria.
Liz has qualifications in Nursing, holds a Bachelor of Social Work, a Graduate Diploma in Human Services Research, Monitoring and Evaluation and a Master's Degree in Public Policy and Management and is working toward undertaking an online Masters of Health Leadership and Mission at Loyola Institute, Chicago. Liz has edited and contributed to two books: Determining the Future: A Fair Go & Health for All and Exploring the Connections: Catholic Social Teaching and the Social Determinants of Health.
